Corporate Audit, Vice President and Head of APJ and Greater China,
External Speaker Experience:
Mune has recently spoken in the Global Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Conference in Dubai (May 18), and in IIA Singapore Conference (Oct 17). The topic was “Leveraging Technology in Internal Audit”. His first external speaking experience has been with Pacific Conference Internal Audit session in Singapore titled “SAP’s Strategies in Auditing at the Speed of Risk” (Jan 17).
With +15 years of professional experience in both external and internal auditing (e.g. 9 years with SAP Internal Audit), Mune leads the APJ and Greater China Internal Audit practice based out of Singapore. Managing a team of 9 internal audit professionals located in Singapore, Shanghai, and Bangalore, Mune is responsible for executing the internal audit projects, ranging from operational and compliance topics, strategic internal consulting engagements on Sales and Services, as well as experience in transaction services supporting the company’s merger and acquisition activities. Mune also serves as the Statutory Auditor for the following 6 entities; SAP Japan, SAP Korea, SAP Labs Korea, SAP India, and SAP Labs India.
Mune began his professional career in 2004 with the Enterprise Risk Services team at Deloitte and Touché in San Jose, California, performing external audits for publically listed companies in the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications industry. Further, he specialized in internal controls assessment in accordance with the Sarbanes Oxley Act. After working as an Audit Manager, in 2009, he moved back to Japan and worked for Protiviti Inc. in the internal audit consulting practice for multi-national companies based in Japan, supporting customers such as Honda Motor and Hewlett Packard. For NTT Data, and Takeda Pharmaceutical, Mune supported post merger integration of overseas acquisitions (Germany, US). In 2010, Mune joined the SAP Corporate Audit office in Tokyo, and in 2013 relocated to SAP’s global Sales headquarter in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania to expand the internal audit practice in the Americas. He relocated again in May 2016 to Singapore in the current role. Mune is a Certified Public Accountant registered in the state of California, and also holds a license as Certified Internal Auditor.
Most recently, Mune completed the executive education program from Wharton School of Business University of Pennsylvania. He earned his undergraduate education in 2003 from the School of Business with a Accounting focus from California State University East Bay.
