Martin Chew

Martin has been the Deputy Director of the Adoption and Engagement Directorate in the Smart Nation and Digital Government Office since July 2018, where he oversees tech adoption and citizen, business and international engagement efforts. Martin conceptualised and implemented SCOPE (Smart Nation Co-Creating with our People Everywhere), a co-creation mechanism that facilitates targeted interactions with citizens for feedback gathering and beta-testing of Singapore’s latest digital government initiatives.

Martin had previous stints at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Singapore working on Joint Operations and Policy portfolios. He is a Prison Officer by training. He is an alumnus of both The University of Sydney and National University of Singapore. Martin is married, and has two young children aged 2 and 0. He spends his time thinking about how to get them to not only be early adopters of technology, but to excel in the next digital frontier.
