Vivienne Gan

In her current role as Vice President of Communications at Langham Hospitality Group, Vivienne Gan is responsible for all internal and external communication matters pertaining to the global hotel management company, including publicizing the corporate brand messages, handling crisis communications, and enhancing the profiles of the group’s portfolio of luxury hotel brands.

With more than 20 years’ experience in the hospitality and media industries, Ms Gan had previously headed the global public relations division at Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, overseeing PR initiatives for the group’s hotels.

Prior to that, she was with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company for eight years as the regional director of public relations, Middle East and Africa. She also served as the director of public relations with The Ritz-Carlton hotels in Bahrain and Singapore.

Adding to her geographic repertoire, Ms Gan took on the director of communications role at the former Kahala Mandarin Oriental in Hawaii from 2002 to 2005.

Ms Gan started her media and public relations career as an on-air broadcast journalist specializing in travel and food stories at Mediacorp TV Singapore.

An avid traveller and blogger, Ms Gan holds a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Communication Management from University of South Australia and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English from York University in Toronto, Canada. She is currently based in Hong Kong at the corporate office.
